Analysis: BGBG celebrated its 20th birthday in 2021 and started the year in good stead, promoting four lawyers to the partnership across the corporate, litigation, IP and telecoms and media departments.
It has built a solid reputation for handling banking and M&A transactions as well as for advising on telecommunications work. The team is visible working on regulatory matters for satellite providers and mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs).
It recently launched a lawtech division to develop mobile applications which will help clients with compliance documentation.
In 2021 the firm expanded its offering to include an eSports practice.
BGBG is headquartered in Mexico City and opened an additional office in Querétaro in 2018, as a response to the economic growth and the business-friendly environment in that area. The firm also has a representative office in Spain.
Deutsche Bank, DiDi, Mercado Libre, Seguros Falabella and Uber are past clients. Car makers Daimler, Kia, Nissan, Porsche, Tesla, and Toyota have turned to the firm for data protection and TMT matters.
